​Teaching Philosophy

I believe all people can sing! No matter your age, musical background, current practices, or future goals, I am excited to sing with you. Teaching voice is my absolute passion, and I want all people to understand the joy of being able to use the human voice to express emotion. As your teacher, I promise to help you feel safe to experiment with your voice and comfortable to make many mistakes along the way. I will only compare you to yourself - your own progress is my ultimate goal.

 

I have a very strategic and step-by-step approach to my teaching. I teach based on the scientific principles of how the voice works. With me, you’ll learn that singing is just a lot of muscle memory and as is the case with all muscles, the more you train them, the easier it gets to use them!

Biography

​

Hi! My name is Taylor Dengler, and I am a professionally trained classical singer and educator. I received my Bachelors degree in Vocal Music Education from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, and my Masters in Vocal Performance from UNI. My teaching experience ranges all the way from Kindergarten to early College students. I’ve taught in many different settings: public schools, private lessons, church, and more. Because of my wide array of experience, I am truly ready for any type of student!
