The cello students, taught by Christina Gentzsch, are the proud winners of the prized Llama Trophy this year. Congratulations to them!
Our student with the most minutes practiced was Rhea Allen with 580 minutes. The student that raised the most funds was Ben Feltz with $150. They won some very cool artwork.
Overall, the students participating practiced 6193 minutes total during the 10 day Practice-A-Thon.
Total funds raised from students and donors was $985 this year which is donated to the organization Guitars4Vets. This amazing program that offers 10 free guitar lessons to veterans, but more importantly the program gives vets community and a new pathway for healing PTSD and other service-related trauma. At the end of the 10-lesson program, participants are gifted a guitar to continue their musical journeys. Special thanks to VFW 3949 Iowa City & VFW 3949 Auxiliary for their generous support in matching donations.
We also had many practicers that practiced more than 200 minutes each. These students earned the title of Llamazing Practicers. They include:
Lena Perreau
Sarah Chimenti
Tomi Olaleye
Dara Olaleye
Lauretta Kelley
Claire Chimenti
Rhea Allen
Ben Feltz
Raphael Policeni
Henry Lyons
Celeste Miller
Levi St. Aubin
Sophie Joly
Rory Jeddeloh
All of their names got put into a drawing for a Dunkin’ Donuts gift card and Lauretta Kelley won that drawing.
Congratulations to all who participated and great practicing!!
